Is Your Home Experiencing Foundation Problems?

Your house is one of the most expensive investments you’ll ever make, which is why it pays to protect it.

If you suspect that there may be something wrong with your foundation, it is smart to first identify common signs of foundation problems in houses and commercial buildings. Here is a list of what to look out for:

  • Foundation cracks, wall/floor cracks
  • Foundation settling or sinking
  • Doors that stick or don’t open and close properly
  • Gaps around window frames or exterior doors
  • Sagging or uneven floors

If you have issues with your home’s foundation, Dry Pro has high quality, proven solutions that can be customized to assist them, so that you can have a peace of mind knowing that it comes with a permanent fix. Here are a few to mention:

1. Push Piers (Foundation Solution)

The Push Pier system permanently stabilizes your home’s foundation and will prevent it from settling any further, help close cracks, and improve the function of windows and doors. In many cases, the best results can lift your home back to its original level.

How It Works: Push Piers (series of steel tube sections) are pushed into the ground with hydraulic ram to reach load-bearing stratum. Then, they are anchored to the structure and the weight of your home becomes the resistance mass needed to push against the piers. This resistance will keep the piers in place and create stability, lift and leveling for the foundation of your home.

 2. Helical Piers (Foundation Solution)

The Helical Pier system will permanently stabilize your home’s foundation and will prevent it from settling any further. Similar to how a screw will hold up a shelf, Helical Piers will hold your home in place. In many cases, Helical Piers will lift sunken foundation and create stability.

How It Works: Helical Piers (steel pipes fitted with helices) are screwed into high density stratum with a handhand hydraulic motor. Then, steel brackets are fitted and the weight of your home is transferred to the pier.

3. IntelliJack™ (Floor Solution)

The IntelliJack™ system will permanently stabilize and strengthen the existing crawl space beams and floor joists by assisting the problem soil beneath the home. IntelliJacks™ are the best solution to lift the floors above the crawlspace to their original position and stops the floors from “bouncing”.

How It Works: A solid base of engineered filling will assists weak foundation soil by transferring the weight of the home to high density stratum. Then, IntelliJack™ columns (heavy duty steel) are cut to size and securely fit between the solid base and the beams or joists in the crawl space.

4. CMU Piers (Foundation Solution)

CMU (cement masonry units) Piers are used in load-bearing capacities where your home’s foundation may be failing or sinking. CMU Piers are one of the most cost-effective solutions because they are a reliable, proven construction material.

How It Works: CMU Piers are normally a series of 8″x16″ concrete blocks that are stacked on top of a solid footing which are under the home to provide support and level the affected floor system. CMU Piers are relatively easy to install and do not require much maintenance.

 5. IntelliBrace™ (Wall Solution)

The IntelliBrace™ system will permanently stabilize your home’s foundation walls. The rare, patented structure of the IntelliBrace™ allows the system to be tightened over time, potentially reversing wall failure (cracking, bowing, and tipping) without the trouble of drilling or digging on the property.

How It Works: Zinc-plated steel beams are custom-built to your basement’s wall height and secured tightly against your basement’s wall with brackets anchored to the floor or floor joists.

6. Carbon Fiber(Wall Solution)

The Carbon Fiber system is the best and fastest solution to permanently stabilize your block foundation walls that may be cracking, bowing or leaning.

How It Works: The Carbon Fiber system uses fiber-reinforced polymers that are stronger than steel and flexible enough to contour tightly against your basement wall. The installment includes brackets to bind and secure the Carbon Fiberstraps to the floor joists in your basement.

7. Wall Bracket(Wall Solution)

The Wall Bracket system will permanently stabilize poured concrete foundation walls and prevent them from leaning in at the top, settling, or bowing.

How It Works: The Wall Bracket system is made up of high-strength steel brackets that reinforces the top wall connections, putting an end to where the problem began. This system provides your foundation walls with multiple and direct attachments that will add greater strength and permanently stabilize them.
