What is the difference between a vapor barrier and encapsulation?

Vapor barriers are polyethylene sheets installed along the walls, floors, and columns of your crawl space and defend against water vapor. Encapsulation is the process by which your entire crawl space is waterproofed. While this does include the use of a vapor barrier, Encapsulation includes other solutions as well.
