This crawlspace in Huntersville, North Carolina had high humidity and water issues. High amounts of humidity, moisture and no air flow caused an outbreak of mold in this crawlspace. Even though it does not seem like a big problem, mold can affect our everyday lives immensely. Mold can cause irritation to your skin/eyes, nasal and sinus congestion, and even asthma attacks. In order to minimize the further spread of mold, our company has encapsulated the crawlspace by installing a vapor barrier. The vapor barrier is a thin piece of plastic membrane (after photo) that traps humidity and vapor, which will prevent mold expanding throughout the crawlspace.
Customer called Dry Pro with concerns in their crawl space. During the inspection we found standing water, an antiquated crawl space moisture barrier, mold on the joists and an overall total mess. The Dry Pro team upgraded the drain system to a Super Sump system, performed mold remediation and a total encapsulation. Customer is now guaranteed low humidity, wood moisture content and no mold long into the future.
Our customer in Huntersville, NC called us out to perform an inspection because her heating and air company discovered standing water and mold under her home. Our free inspection revealed extensive mold, sweating duct work, inadequate vapor barrier, wood rot, and sagging floors. The homeowner knew how important it was to correct all the problems but didn't realize that we could help lift her floors back which were causing doors to stick. She choose Dry-Pro to perform a full mold remediation, replace a section of rotten girder, sister several floor joists, install additional piers with supplemental support to lift the sagging areas, install a full perimeter interior french drain, install a 20 mil encapsulation liner with SilverGlo wall insulation and install a commercial grade dehumidifier to stabilize humidity and prevent future humidity & moisture problems. The homeowner couldn't be happier with the install and said she couldn't believe that her crawlspace could look that nice.
