This crawlspace in Charlotte, North Carolina has insulation hanging down and a vapor barrier that was damaged and rooting out of place. The interior of the crawlspace was muddy and it caused a foul smell throughout the home. Insulation is one of the top reasons for mold outbreaks in crawlspaces. In the before photo, we can see that the insulation is hanging down and it has been contaminated by the mold. The vapor barrier was also damaged and it was not providing climate control throughout the crawlspace. Without a properly working vapor barrier, the moisture is evaporated into the insulation causing an abundance of mold to grow. In order to fix this dilemma, our company has replaced the insulation with SilverGlo. SilverGlo does the same job as insulation, but it is more energy efficient. We also replaced the old vapor barrier with a new one, so there is complete climate control in the crawlspace.

One major issue was that the driveway and walkway had dropped about a 1 inch and had some stress cracks that needed attention. Our crew went out and injected PolyLevel under the slab and lifted it back even. We then cleaned the cracks and joints and applied our nexus pro sealant. Now the driveway is level and sealed off from water getting down through the crack and joints and washing out the subsoil. The homeowners are now looking forward to showing their house and enticing potential buyers with a five-year transferable warranty on their newly leveled driveway!

When Dry Pro encapsulates a crawlspace we almost always install a dehumidifier. The reason why can be seen in Howard's story below.
Howard had his crawlspace encapsulated by another company less than three years ago. At the time of the encapsulation, the company told him that they would wait to see if they needed a dehumidifier before installing one. Now, a couple years later they have mold in the crawlspace and need a dehumidifier. Paul, Dry Pro's Design Specialist that inspected this property was really frustrated with what the other company put this family through. He said the cost the customer would have paid for the dehumidifier years ago would have been less than the cost of mold remediation now. And not only does the family need mold remediation now, but they also need a dehumidifier.
Paul was able to get Howard and his family squared away and our crew installed a new SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier with a condensate pump Duck Kit, Bubble Pot, and Exit Line.

Wendy found Dry Pro when she was searching online for someone to inspect her home's structural integrity. She'd found several cracks in the drywall around her home and was looking for a repair. When our System Design Specialist inspected the property, he found that most of the problems with the structure were caused by people repairing and replacing various items around the home without keeping the support for the home in mind. For example two of the homes piers were damaged during plumbing and HVAC duct installations and a joist was unsupported due to someone incorrectly replacing a section of rim under the doorway. Our crew installed five SmartJacks and two 4ft. W8 Steel Beams to help support the home.

There was also incorrectly placed insulation. Our System Design Specialist, David, inspected her property and walked her through her waterproofing options.
