One of the many reasons customers contact Dry Pro is because they have cracks in their home due to a settled foundation. Often times our System Design Specialist will recommend the installment of helical piers.
So what are helical piers and how do they work?
A helical pier is a steel pier system that can be installed from the exterior or interior of the home. The first section of the helical pier has one of more helix shaped blades welded to the shaft. Additional extensions to the helical pier are then used as needed.
When helical piers are installed they are advanced into the soil. Once a proper depth has been received heavy duty foundation brackets are positioned below the footing. The weight of the home is then transferred through the helical piers to a stable soil layer that will support the home and lift it back to its original position. After the installation is complete, the soil is replaced around the work area.
Helical piers are a good choice if you are looking for a quick repair with minimal disturbance for your homes foundation problem. Contact us for a free estimate.
