Angela and her family were considering finishing the basement in their home. They knew that before refinishing, they needed to tackle the basement’s water intrusion problem first. They said that they would find water along the walls of their basement every time it rained.
Dry Pro’s System Design Specialist Rich went out to inspect the property. During his inspection, Rich saw efflorescence covering the basement walls. Efflorescence are the minerals in the concrete mortar that dissolved in the rainwater and were left behind after the water evaporated. Efflorescence is easy to detect because it shows as a white chalky powder on the concrete mortar or soil.
After Rich went over his findings with Angela, she agreed to use Dry Pro for the repair.
The Dry Pro crew installed BasementGutter™ in two sections of the basement. BasementGutter™ is designed to capture water seepage through walls and leaks along the wall/floor joint. The crew also installed two SafeDri™ Sump Pumps in the sections where the BasementGutter™ was installed. After, they installed sealant along the perimeter of the basement to seal out any water that may be coming in through the concrete mortar.
