Foundation Repair Case Studies: Supporting a Settled Home in Lincolnton, NC

Monday, October 2nd, 2017 by Nicole Valardi

Roxie was concerned with the sagging floors in her home and cracks in the walls. She called Dry Pro to get an estimate for the repair. System Design Specialist Kelley inspected the property and talked with Roxie about the repairs that needed to be made. Kelley told Roxie that her first priority was to lift and support the settled home. He said that many of her floor joists weren't even connected. He also said she needed crawlspace work with fungal growth, waterproofing, and dehumidification.

In order to stay within Roxie's budget, they decided to do the crawlspace repairs at a later time. Kelley designed her a structural repair system that would give her settled home the support it needed.

Wood Foreman James started off the project by walking Roxie through the repairs to better understand her expectations for the project. Next, the crew dug and poured concrete for the footers. They added a second ply to two joists using the existing ledger and double hangers for support. They also added two double hangers to help support the bathroom. After they installed three SmartJacks that were 2 inches tall and triple 2x10 drop girders that extended from the master bedroom through the master bath and into the hall bath.

Roxie was so happy with our crew and their repairs and she couldn't wait to bring Dry Pro back in the future to control the humidity in her crawlspace.
